Question

Viewbug brand Presets not populating.

I received from free presets from viewbug and I have been trying to import them into lightroom. I unzipped the files and saved them on my desktop, then went into >edit>preferences>the presets tab>show all other lightroom presets>lightroom>develop presets and I pasted them into that file. I then restarted lightroom.

Now that I am back in there I can't find them anywhere in lightroom.

The are a lrtemplate file type.

Thanks!

This is the Lightroom-Classic forum so I assume 'Classic' is your "Lightroom".

You must Import presets into LrC, and not simply place them in the Presets Folder. (The system changed to be compatible with Adobe Camera Raw when .XMP became the Preset default filetype.).

And IIRC, for .LRTEMPLATE files you must Import them using the [ + ] on the Preset panel header.  (because File > Import Develop Profiles and Presets from the main Menu does not work for .lrtemplate files.)

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Yes, you are correct it is LRC.

I tried to do that also, but it said the file type was not supported. The file type being LRTemplate. Do they need to be XMP file type instead?

I also received the "not supported" error with some .lrtemplate files, yet a folder of .lrtemplate presets from Julianne Kost imported successfully-  Using the [ + ] on the Preset panel header.

Is it possible they are Brush Presets? (and not Develop presets)

Can ou contact the preset supplier and ask for .XMP versions?
