Virtual Copies not appearing

I have used Lightroom since it came out. I am using Lightroom Classic. I use Virtual copies all the time to do another crop or second effect on a photo. Today for some reason when I create one, it says "Virtual Copy Created" but does not display it.  It usually carries over the same attributes (rating, color, crop and edits, etc and displays it right next to it). I can turn all filters on and off and not see it. I have no idea where it is going (if actually created).  I quit and re-opened LR Classic and it does the same thing. Any idea?

I think somehow it switched to Collection from Gallery, even though I was in the gallery. As soon as I clicked on the collection (which was identical as I only had one gallery in this collection fo far), the Virtual Copies appeared.  I have never run across this issue before, but I guess that is how it works. Not sure how it switched from gallery to collection as I never click on collection only galleries???

If you tried to do a Save Metadata in one of output module it saves for that module using the Command S shortcut. I'm not 100% sure if you mean a Web Gallery as thats the only place I can think of with a gallery.
