Question

Watermark on a live image?

Hi all

I have tried to find this answer on both the forums, and in Google in general, and not seeing anything.

Is there a way to view a watermark on an image that's being edited, ie, within the Develop tab.  Currently I am having to export the image and then re-edit if the watermark isn't placed to my liking.

I would expect there is a way, but for the life of me can't see how (and if there is, it's likely something obvious I'm missing!)

thanks in advance

Barry

The only way added graphics can be visible while in Develop, is by a Loupe Overlay image - but that is not the same thing as a watermark. And the chosen graphic fills the whole image rather than being possible to move around to a certain place. So it makes sense if you want some sort of graphical border or placement guide informing the entire photo's framing. The only controls for placement of a localised graphic are in the Watermarking dialog, and that is an output setting hence only applicable for the output.

Altermatively one can use the Print module and export to JPG from there. This gives you a lot of graphical possibilities but at the cost of some constraints e.g. the specific filenaming and the individual keywords etc of the photos are stripped away. That's because you are then just exporting some page layouts (with one or more photos showing up on each), and not exporting those particular photos in their own right.

You cannot view watermarks in the Develop Module.

You can only view them via the Export dialog box. Go to the Watermark segment, then select Edit Watermarks
