Weird behavior when adding a mask in Lightroom Classic 16.1

When I add a mask to one of my Sony RAW files, in Lightroom Classic (v 16.1) the exposure slider automatically jumps to about + one half a stop, even though I have not touched that sliderider before, or after,  adding that mask. This happens with a.ny kind of mask, for example. Sky, or Linear gradient. This started today. I am on a MacBook pro (Apple silicon M1, runing Sonoma). Any ideas? Is this some kind of new bug?

Thanks  Lito

If you have selected a mask option (like the brush, for example) and you move a slider before you apply the mask, then that sets a default for all masks. Apparently that is what you did. Selecting the "Reset All Sliders' option stops this. BTW, you are using Lightroom Classic 13.1, not 16.1. The 16.1 is the version of the Camera Raw routines.

Many, many thanks, Johan, for that great explanation and the solution of my problem. It is amazing the number of secrets hidden in a marvelously rich program like Lightroom, a program I know pretty well and use on a daily basis. But I probably would never have discovered that curious way of setting a default for all the varios masking options, that i obviously activated by  mistake. I feel lucky that there is actually a community of users that can offer such help.

Thanks again,   Lito
