Question

What I see in lightroom while editing does not match final product-not a screen calibration issue!!

Can someone help me PLEASE?

It is not my screen that needs calibrating because I can visibly see the difference on my screen between photos.

When I edit in lightroom, it is beautiful, light, airy, smooth.  After export at 80 quality (as recommended by Adobe), sRGB, 300ppi, all of the recommended export settings, what I see is not what I have just edited.  The images are darker, dingier, and have a higher contrast.  I am basically having to blindly edit, export and then pull up in preview to check the image, then the cycle starts all over again until I get the images correct. On the flip side, images in LR will have to look blown out, contrast taken out, and highlights all the way down for the final image to look okay.

Adobe said that my image quality was too high and I needed to take it to 80.  It still does this and this had no effect on how images are edited IN LR.

Does adobe have a weird preview setting that I am not aware of that makes the RAW images look like jpegs while editing? SOMEONE help.  It is driving me nuts and editing using LR is taking me forever because of all I have to do to get a picture correct.  Thank you!

We need to know the application where you see this. It most likely is NOT color managed.

Either you are exporting in the wrong color space, or using a non-color managed viewer outside of Lightroom, or YES, you do have a screen calibration problem.

The recommendation of export at quality 80 is both nonsense and irrelevant, and has no effect on this.

So, we need to know what color space you have selected in the export dialog box. We need to know what viewer you are using outside of Lightroom.

The OP already said that she is exporting in sRGB, but the problem is that we don't know what viewer is used to view the exported image. If the viewer does not support color management, then differences in color between Lightroom and this viewer are to be expected.

    Hi there,

Could you please let us know the version of Lightroom and operating system you're working on?
Have you tried assigning srgb iec61966 as the color profile from within the operating system and see if it helps?

Yes! Sorry i did not include that!

I have the adobe cloud subscription so it’s always the most updated version and same on my MacBook Air.

My macs screen is calibrated to the profile that was suggested in all the photography forums. Adobe LR is srgb and export is srgb, too.

    Thank tou!
