Have you moved your .lrcat  file to another folder? If you didn't move the preview file with it then Lr can't find it to read it. These files  need to be kept together in order for Lr to work properly. Otherwise as Jim has suggested your Previews file is likely corrupted.

It would seem that your preview data has become corrupted. You can delete the file in your Lightroom catalog folder that has the extension lrdata. This is your preview data, and will force Lightroom 5 to create a new file when it starts again. If you don't feel comfortable simply deleting that file, you can move it to a subfolder for safekeeping, which will still initiate the creation of a new preview data file. If that doesn't resolve the problem then you can move the old file back to its original position.
