Question

When removing folders from within Lightroom, they are not deleted from a network share. It only works when working on a local folders.

There are times when I organize my library from within Lightroom. This includes creating, deleting, and renaming folders.

This works perfectly when I am working on local files and folders but doesn't work nearly as smoothly when I'm working on files and folders stored on my network attached storage drive.

If I right click on a local folder within Lightroom and choose Remove Folder, it will remove the folder from Lightroom's catalog AND it will delete the folder from my SSD.

If I right click on a folder located on my NAS within Lightroom and choose Remove Folder, it gets deleted from Lightroom's catalog but will NOT get deleted from my NAS.

This results in a bunch of ghost folders. I end up having to go through every folder on my NAS looking for them and deleting them.

Please fix this or display some kind of alert within Lr if it's not possible to delete the remote folder.

The Remove Folder option should work exactly the same for local and remote folders.

Are you removing one folder at a time or multiple folders?

I recently reorganized some of my older yearly folders, moving images out of dated folders into the main year folder, and if once I moved the files out of several folders at the same time then with those folders still selected right clicked and selected Remove they got removed from the LR catalog (Folders area) but did not get deleted from my drive. But if after moving the files I selected some other folder and then went back to those I had moved the files from, with all of them selected, and did the Remove all got removed from LR and got deleted from the drive.
