Question

When using denoise AI, the stack button is checked, but the images are not stacking in the filmstrip

When using denoise AI, the stack button is checked, but the images are not stacking in the filmstrip as a single image after it processes, it is showing the 2 photos next to each other, the one that has had denoise AI  applied to it, and then the original image next to it. This is a bug. When you use denoise AI and have the stack button checked, after it processes, it is only supposed to show the processed SINGLE image ONLY, not the original next to it. This needs to be fixed.

Update: The 'stacking' option when you right-click on the photo has re-appeared. Not sure why this anomaly has occurred. Processing denoise photo now stacks as 2 images which is what's supposed to happen.

Are you perhaps in a smart collection when you use Denoise? Stacks do not exist in smart collections.

S key switches to a proof view when under the develop tab. I just posted an update as well.

I can not see this here.

What happens if you then collapse stacks?
Maybe you have stacks expanded before starting denoise and then of course you see them next to each other.
