When using the helplines in transformation I don't see the small zoom window anymore

Question

When using the 'helplines' in transformation I don't see the small zoom window near the place I want to start the line anymore. It disappeared after an update about hmm 2 months ago? Is there a trick to get it back or is it a bug?  Version 11.5 on Mac Os Montery 12.5.1

Initial troubleshooting steps:

1. Try temporarily setting Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off. Does the magnification box reappear?

2. Try resetting LR's preferences:

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.
