When using the "Select Sky" feature, Lightroom starts the "Detecting Sky" but never creates a mask. No message is given.
When using the "Select Sky" feature, Lightroom starts the "Detecting Sky" process and creates a "New Mask..." entry in the Masking panel. However, after 2–3 seconds, the mask entry disappears entirely, the sky is not selected, and the "Select Sky" button is sometimes greyed out or non-responsive. The only consistent fix is a full restart of the application.
Steps to Reproduce:
-
Open a catalog and enter the Develop Module.
-
Open the Masking Panel (Shift+W).
-
Click "Select Sky."
-
Observe the "New Mask..." entry appearing and then vanishing without generating a selection.
-
no error message
Expected Result: The AI should complete the detection and create a persistent mask layer with the sky selected.
Actual Result: The mask entry is deleted automatically by the system and the tool becomes unavailable.
System Info:
-
Application: Lightroom Classic 15.3
-
OS: Windows 11
-
Workaround Found: Restarting Lightroom temporarily resolves the issue, but it recurs after several minutes of use.
