@ShellScraps Unfortunately you haven't given us any information about your system and detailed infos about your issue(s). Therefore, all proposed solutions are a look into the crystal ball

    • Do you get an error message? If yes, please post the message word-by-word.
    • Which steps do you’ve try to solve the issue

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Lightroom menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

In the meantime try to reset your Lightroom preferences:  How to reset Lightroom Classic preferences (adobe.com)

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:  https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html

Try also to restore the catalog from one of the latest backups and check if Lightroom crashed also. Or create a new catalog and import several images.

Hold the Ctrl-Key while starting LrC. This opens a catalog selection dialog.

Click on “Create a New Catalog” to create a new one and see if this catalog works. If yes, you could then try to import your current catalog into the new one.

Probably a windows issue, it works fine on my Mac. In addition, I have not heard of any others having that kind of a problem on other forums. Try it in Win SAFE mode, that will tell you if it’s windows or LrC

That’s funny, it works fine of my Windows 11 PC. Therefore, my conclusion is it is a MAC issue. Which is just as invalid logic as the logic you used.

Actually, it very likely it’s neither, and it is something on the OP’s computer or catalog that is the problem.

Actually the OP said Win 11 not Mac. I am sorry you think my logic is invalid. It is the same logic I used as a global troubleshooter and also what helped me find 2 day zero bugs. His assumption it is LrC is what is invalid. The actual truth may lie in the middle where something in LrC in combination with something in his software/hardware environment is the cause.

Is Lightroom Classic (LrC) hanging or crashing? It’s been know to hang due to a corrupt catalog.

As @dj_paige mentioned, in another situation, LrC might hang and take a long time to load the catalog and show up on screen. If once you start LrC, check Win 11 task manager to see if it shows that LrC is running with disk and CPU activity. In that case, let it run for some time, hours possibly and it will finally load the catalog. I had that happen twice just after a version change required a catalog upgrade. Since, the catalog has been loading fine.

For now, revert back to 15.5.

Also, the problem may be the catalog and not 15.6. You might want to try unzipping a recent backup of your catalog file and see if you can open that in 15.6.

Also, 15.6 has been rock-solid for me so far, again indicating something on your computer might be causing this.
