Where is my Classic?

I've used  Lightroom for years, now using Classic. Opening LR today it is CC and doesn't recognize my external drive, which holds all my photos. Would appeciate any help to get back to Classic.

This is confusing. Did you open Classic (LrC icon), or Lightroom (Lr icon)?

Sounds like you opened the wrong application. There are two of them. There app icons are similar, but different. Lightroom Classic is LrC. Lightroom is simply Lr. If you only use Lightroom Classic, you don't need to have Lightroom installed on your computer. Check your Creative Cloud application to find Lightroom Classic. Open it from there.
