Where is the best place to store LRC catalog?

Where is the best place to store a LRC Cataolg?

At the moment I store it on a SSD drive.

Is Cloud better?

I like to use my Imac as my main editing computer and then I do some of the culling etc through LR synced albums on my out of date 2014 macbook (alot of the new features in LR are not available to update on the Macbook)

Currently I am having some issues with my catalog workign to import as it is saying the catalog is currupt and I need to try to used a backed up version - that has been posted seperatly.  I am now asking on views on where to store the catalog fo fututure use?

For best performance, the catalog should be on your fastest drive, so the SSD should be fine.

It cannot be stored in the cloud, it has be on a local disk.
