Question

Where is version 12?

Why doesn't LRC 12 show up anywhere on my up to date M1 Mac? Why is LRC 11.5 reported as current version? Why does a simple software update require so much troubleshooting to simply locate?

All is working now.  I don't know why Creative Cloud could not see LRC 12.  Everything functioned normally, but 11.5 was the highest version my creative suite install could see.  Even fresh LRC downloads were 11.5.

After deleting everything Adobe and starting over, the issue of Creative Cloud hanging in the final statages of reinstalling were triggered by my VPN, so keep that in mind for troubleshooting.

Ugh!  Uninstalled everything to start from scratch, and now Creative Cloud fails to complete.  Pops up "Creative Cloud is taking longer...  Ran uninstaller, downloaded again, same issue.  Probably a permission error or something. So frusterating!

I need help.  I cannot figure out how to update LRC from 11.5 to 12.x

So far I have tried:

-Logged in and out of my account in Creative Cloud accross serveral of these attemps

-Clicked Check for Updates and Command-Option-r in Creative Cloud

-Deleted OPM.db file are repeated above steps

-Deleted LRC app via Uninstall in Creative Cloud (opted not to delete all my perferences and plugins), repeated refreshes

-Tried to Download LRC directly from Adobe.com.  Installed 11.5

Any suggestions would be much appricated!

Does your system met the system requirements? For Windows 10, for example, you need 20h2 or later. For the older version of LR 1909 is sufficient

Lightroom Classic system requirements (adobe.com)

Sorry, I should have also mentioned M1 MacBook, Mac OS Ventura.  But to your point, current hardware and lastest OS, so minimm system requiremts should be exceeded.

Looking like I just have to wipe all things Adobe and start over.  Ugh

Why? Well, we don't know, but we can offer trouble-shooting suggestions. Perhaps you could tell us what you have already tried.

I had already tried suggestions 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Axel Matt's link.  Guess it's on to 5, and then may 6.

Sorry if I seem a little short here.  It's just that I feel Adobe could do better on issuse like this.  Using Adobe software is top notch.  Dealing with the Adobe's fragmentation grenade-like installer aftermath is highly undesireable because of it's compexity, and seeminly endless accumulation of direcroties and files, installed and forgotting in every nook and crany.

Thanks for your time! 🙂
