Question

Why Camera RAW works a lot faster than Lightroom?

When I compare the performance of camera raw and lightroom doing the same things over the same image the difference is so clear in almost all the aspects... how I can resolve this or why Adobe don't do anything with this old problem of lightroom?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about slow performance of Lightroom, could you please try the steps mentioned here and let us know if it helps?

Thanks but the link refer only to Photoshop, not lightroom, I mean that the same image works good in camera raw, but the same image opened in ligthroom is other experience.... slow

My workstation configuration is:

  • Xeón procesor (24 cores)
  • 64GB DDR4 RAM
  • Nvidia Quadro K4000 Graphic Card
  • M.2 Disk for OS (Windows 10)
  • SSD for scratch disk
  • SSD for Ligthroom Catalog
  • SSD + Hybrid disk (Tiered) for RAW Images
  • Camera: Fujifilm XT3/XPro2

I'm afraid "slow" doesn't really describe anything. I'm using an old HP Pavilion computer with 8 GB RAM, Windows 10, Lightroom Classic CC 8.2, Photoshop CC 2019/Camera Raw 11.1. Nothing at all spectacular about my computer, no graphics card, just onboard graphics. I would rather use Lightroom any day. I have no performance problems at all with it.
