Question

Will a faster GPU resolve tiling when viewing images?

When I am in the Library in LR Classic, it can take 3-4 seconds in between images before the tiling finishes. Would getting a new GPU with a benchmark score of 12,000 resolve this? My current GPU has a benchmark score of 6,800. Both have Direct X12. Both GPU's have 12 gig of RAM.

Without knowing which hardware do you use (CPU, RAM, GPU, type of hard drives etc. ) it's hard to say if a faster GPU will help. It's depending on the whole system.

Please give us more and detailed informations about the hardware do you use.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 6 - Topaz Photo AI

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz

64-bit OS, x64-based processor

Installed RAM:  128 GB

Current GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 12GB

Monitor: BenQ SW2700 Adobe RGB color space

Only shoot in RAW, and use LrC and Topaz

I'm considering a RX 7700XT 12G, or

RTX 5060 Ti 16G, or something like that  with dual Display Ports for dual monitors at 2560 x 1440 if its affortable.  I don't do any gaming or video production.  I don't edit in the cloud, everything is local on SSDs.  I just do image editing and post on SM or paper printing (archival), and now experimenting with metal prints.

I really am looking for how to minimize the speed and rendering bottleneck in LrC.

Thanks for your assistance,

Nanci

Try updating your graphics driver by going directly to the manufacturer's web site, rather than relying on Windows Update or a manufacturer's update utility:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html#solution-4

If that doesn't help, please copy/paste here the entire contents of the LR menu command Help > System Info -- that will let us see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running.
