Question

Will Lightroom Classic be compatible with the new iPadOS 16?

I'm curious if the new iPadOS 16 will be able to run the Lightroom Classic program, as Apple is advertising it will be able to run "Desktop-class apps"

Lightroom Classic has never run on iPadOS, only on MacOS (and Windows). There is no reason to think this will change. You misunderstood Apple's claim. Apple does not say iPadOS will be able to run MacOS desktop apps, but run "Desktop-class apps".

Lightroom Classic upgrade to version 12 was on October 18 2022 and there is no indication that it Can be installed on iPad or other tablets.

You can go to the link below and down free e-books for Lightroom Classic and Lightroom (Cloud Based) ecosystem and compare what features are available in both options.
