I have Lightroom Classic 12.1 and I used a Promaster card reader to read my camera cards to upload my images. The Lightroom has stopped reading my card reader

"The Lightroom has stopped reading my card reader"

Can you upload to your computer using your OS file system, without involving Lr?

Topic: Lightroom classic not reading the card reader

Hi Sameer, One correction I’m using windows 10, in a PC (ASUS) not mac, I do use a hub extension, but I have also tried plugging it directly into the machine and it is still not being read. I have not changed the Card Reader

What is the equivalent to the Finder in Windows

It’s behaving like the system is trying to load it but can’t do it.

Hey @flash_gun. Welcome to the Lightroom community. I'll help you figure this out. Before anything else, first update Lightroom Classic to the latest version through the Creative Cloud desktop app.

What specific version of macOS are you working on? Have you tried using a different card temporarily? Do you use USB hub extensions?

Try the import operation with the following suggestions:

  • Copy images on the internal drive manually using the Finder first & then try to import.
  • If you're using any, plug the card directly into the machine instead of the USB hub.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
