Windows 10; LrC 12.1 crash when syncing from Lr on iPad and From Lightroom collections not updating

Now that I'm home from a long trip during which I backed up my images to Lr Mobile on my iPad, I'm syncing my photos to LrC. It has been very frustrating. Two major issues:

1. Collections in From Lightroom that correspond to Lr Mobile albums have stopped updating. The first sync sesseion worked fine and photos showed up in the proper collections. But after getting rid of some of the collections, the remaining ones are not updating and have zero photos in them even though the photos are in "All Synced Photographs". I've tried various techniques to no avail, including renaming sync.lrdata.

 

2. LrC has crashed twice. The first time it was at least hanlded with the bug report dialog box, but the second time was much worse as it appeared my entire computer was dying. It started by loud static coming from the speakers, then all three monitors went black. That lasted for about 40 seconds (seemed much longer), and then the screens came back and the speaker static stopped. On one of the screens was this 

When that was acknowledged, another popup appeared:

LrC was no longer running. After a reboot I started LrC and it appears to function normally.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

 

I see you did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s?

Hi Rikk,

Thanks for responding. It was Adobe's crash dialog. The only other email address that could have been used is <removed for privacy>

 

I had another occurence of a similar problem today. This time there was no crash. While I was syncing I was also playing some audio from Radio Paradise in my Chrome browser. Suddently the audio stopped (but no static noise this time) and for a while everything was locked. I could not move any windows, close any tabs in the browser, just totally locked up. That lasted about a minute, then I was able to resume interactions with other apps, but not with LrC which was still locked although now it beeped when I clicked anywhere in LrC. I searched for a hidden window or dialog box in windows (using Alt-Tab), but did not see a hidden window/dialog box. Because I could not do anything within LrC, I started Task Manager and stopped LrC from there.

 

I restarted LrC and it resumed behaving normally, more or less.

I don't find a report under that address either. If it crashes again, make sure you fill out the report and include an email address please.
