Question

Windows 10 Tether mode not working

I am able to operate in tether mode for my D500 and Z7 on windows 7 but not Windows 10.

WIth windows 10 after I select tethered capture>start tether capture I get the pop up "Tethered Capture Settings" , I hit ok , and  a pop up appears with  the following error message:

tether_nikon.exe-System Error

The code execution cannot proceed because CRClient.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the program may fix the problem.

I reinstalled LR which made no difference

I have gone thru all the "Troubleshooting Tethering" steps to no avail.

My  Dell Laptop has windows 10.0.17763

LR Classic CC 8.2

Z7 FW 1.03

Any suggestions?

Hi MIKEGI,

Sorry to learn that you cannot use your Nikon D500 for tethering in Lightroom Classic CC on Windows 10 OS.

Are you able to tether the camera in any other application in Windows 10?

Are you using any anti-virus program? Can you try adding Lightroom.exe AND tether_nikon.lrplugin\tether_nikon.exe to the exception list and try again?

Also, for a Workaround, Copy “CRClient.dll” from “Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC” to “Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\tether_nikon.lrplugin”.

Let me know if that worked for you.

Thanks.

Akash

The workaround you suggested worked.  After Moving the .dll file I am able to operate in tether mode.

Thank

you
