(Windows) Lightroom Classic open recent catelog fails

HI. I reeinstalled LR Classic. I selected to import my old catelog (6 gb). LR has to reestart with the new catelog, but it only opens a line on my windowscreen says: Lightroom - Opening Catelog: Lightroom Catelog-2-2v10-v11.lrat"  How long time can I expect it to take to open ? There is no status bar etc.  Or will it ever open ?  Have been waiting for 2 hours now.

Welcome to the Lightroom community. I'd love to help you figure this out.

 

What version of Lightroom Classic & Windows are you working on? Where are your catalogs stored? On the internal drive or an external drive?

 

I have tested this on Windows 10 & 11 & I could not reproduce this. If the catalog is on an external drive, move it to the desktop on the internal drive.

Go to the Windows Task Manager > Processes & force Quit any process instances of Lightroom Classic & try again.
