Work flow & multiple masks

I am running Windows 10 and the latest version of Lr.

What I shoot is unusual. What I do is build a adjustable sculpture using mirrors and reflective plastic, then photograph the reflection. 

This creates multiple challenges. Focal length of course because the reflected objects are at varied distance fom the lens. 

But the other issue is the edit process. I expose for the brightest areas knowing that I will have to bring up the exposure in the darkest areas of the frame, but really its like I am editing multiple photogaphs even though what you see is what the lens saw. So the question I have is whether it is valuable for me to do global edits in the develop module, or do minimal and then mask the various sections and bear down using clarity, dehaze, texture and most of all exposure. 

And when having set the global edits, I do a section am I correct in believing I am building off the presets I already established when doing my global editing. Thanks, Joel
