Workflow to sync LR Mac to iPad LR

Hi,

I have a Mac Studio with a local catalog and my photos on a Synology NAS through a 10 GBe local network. I have an iPad Pro that I want to use for editing when I'm downstairs or not behind my Mac. How can I achieve this?

I've been thinking about the following:

- Syncing the catalog through Synology drive. But I think there's no way to open a LRCatalog the same way on the LR iPad Pro app?

- Using Smart Previews for the iPad. I don't want to import all my photos (more than 4TB) on my iPad but I haven't found a way to actually directly use the RAW photos on the NAS with my iPad, like I'm doing with my Mac Studio.

Who could help me out here?

Your second option is the more practical - in LrC you just pick the photos to add to a collection, ensure it's synced, and then access them on the iPad. Technically, you could sync the entire catalogue this way without running into storage limits (smart previews don't count) This gives you smart previews which are usually good enough, and your adjustments or flag/rating/title/caption would simply sync both ways, though I'd always do the fine tuning in LrC. But don't do any keywording on the iPad - Adobe decided not to allow them to sync.

You can also import the raws into the iPad, for example from a flash card to USBC/Lightning etc converter or via a cable from the camera. If those photos are already synced (as smart previews above) LrM is smart enough to match up the raw with the sync item.
