Working Between Classic CC and Lightroom CC

Hi,

Liking the new Lightroom CC across my ipad and mobile but I still want to use some of the editing features of Lightroom Classic CC (panorama or HDR for example) for a few images.

  • How should I best use Lightroom Classic CC to edit a few photos intermittently without synching all my Lightroom CC photos to lightrom Classic on my laptop?
  • When I sync a collection in Classic CC into LIghtroom CC it only seems to upload the smart previews into the Cloud. how can i get full res (or RAW's) into the cloud after editing.
  • Basically I want to use my ipad for 95% of my editing. Then edit a few images in Classic on my laptop and then sync them back to lightroom CC afterwards (for example after creating a panoramic or HDR).

I have wasted hours trying to figure this out and read many of the tutorials but cant find an answer. Am I missing something or should I just keep Lightroom classic completely separate and export the images from there into CC manually.

Thanks!

You can't. If you enable syncing in Classic, it will download any originals in the cloud.

You can import the originals again with LRCC. The server should be smart enough to tie them up to the smart previews.

Having both Classic and LRCC is too new for thoughtful tutorials or convincing answers, and in any case Adobe haven't designed them to be used together in a completely-coherent workflow. To the extent that I bother with LRCC, I just treat it as being LRMobile running on my laptop, just like I have it on my iPad/phone. In general, use one or the other, and if you do mix them be prepared to bake your own workarounds.
