working with videos in Lightroom 2

Can videos be imported and edited in Lightroom 2 - I am trying to import a mp4 format file and Lightroom 2 appears not to recognize the file - yet in the library mode there is a file designation for videos..

    Video support was first added in LR 3, so you'd need to upgrade to the latest version (LR CC 2015 / 6).  Beware, however, that LR's video features are rudimentary and sometimes behave erratically (e.g. playback).

    In addition to what John has advised before you purchase the upgrade check to ensure your computer has the specifications to run Lightroom 2015 cc / 6.12
