Would be interst for Lightroom Clasic CC LITE?

Hallo.

I am  long years photo enthusiast.  After ending Nikon Capture NX-2 I chose perpetual license Lightroom 6. Now after two years was ending the functionality of MAP module. For me is this module essential. I wanted to pass to Ligtroom Clasic CC. But there is  possible only the bundle of CC Cloud +LightRoom Clasic  CC and PhotoshopCC.

The problem is that CC Cloud and Photoshop CC  is fully redundant for me. Therefore the value of this plan  for money (  13 EUR /month) is very disadvantageous.

I think that It would be very nice "Christmas gift" for all current users of LR 6 to add plan only for Ligtroom Clasic CC for much lower subscription price  as present bundle. It would be very appreciated  as compensation for canceled LR 6  MAP module.

But as  I consider the MAP module as essential feature of Ligtroom 6 and Adobe rejection to repair this essential functionality via special upgrade I see not fair.

What is CC Cloud? With the Photography plan you get the ability to use the Adobe cloud system to sync images, in a Synced Collections, so they can be viewed and edited on a Mobile Device, Phone/Pad, but you don't have to use that feature or sync any collection to the clouds.

I also rarely use PS but I do at times and find I could not get along without it at the times I need/use it.

At the start of the CC, subscription based system, if you wanted PS it would cost you $19.99 a month (or was included in the complete CC package for something in the 40-50 bucks a month range).

So the Photo plan, LR + PS, for $9.99 is IMHO a Great Deal.

You do not have to sync anything to the clouds. You do Not have to install or use the desktop LR  CC (Cloud Centric) program or the Mobile LR  CC program on your Mobile devices.

Hallo Just Shot Me.

Excuse for incorrect term- CC Cloud = Creative Cloud.

I know all new possibility, but I do not need them. I have iPad Pro 10,2 but when I test the workflow in comparison to the desktop  I make the conclusion  that editing photos on tablet need photo journalist only (but I think only seldom- they have  powerful laptops with big volume SSDs always also ).

I use many years Dropbox cloud a Apple iCloud. But I use them only for  thing which brings me some additional value.  In my position of photo enthusiast I do not see any sense to transfer big photo dates to and from Creative Cloud.  I use notebook HP ZBook 15 with 1TB + 2 TB SSD with HP Dock,  mouse , keyboard and  24" DELL calibrated display. For the photo backup I use Acronis True Image and as backup medium  high speed Samsung T5 SSD 2 TB external disk.

Additionaly Creative Cloud area  in our country need big data subscription and  the internet connection is much slower  as for example in the US.

To the prices. At my country cost monthly subscription for Lightroom CC+ LightRoom Clasic CC+ Photoshop CC + CC 20 GB  circa 14 USD.

Twenty months  ago I have pay circa 200- USD for LigtRoom 6.  Adobe did not  warned me that essential MAP module will not work after November 30. 2018!

Adobe offer me as replace only the bundle with three items which I will NEVER use. I do not need any regular LR 6 update, the speed on my HP laptop is not limiting me, I do not plan to by new DLSR  (Nikon D300 + Panasonic GX80). The added feature of LR 7 CC are not essential.

In my position as renter is 14,- USD monthly not "great deal". The average rent at Slovakia is circa 480,- USD. And for example  gallon of petrol cost 5,5 USD !.

I just want 20 months old  LR6 to work after November 30. 2018 as before! From my point of view  I  hold the canceling of MAP Module in LR 6  to be immoral.

But Adobe didn't do this, Google did this. They changed the way Google Maps works and LR 6.14 now cannot access Google Maps. And yes, Adobe did warn people on their web site long before November 30, 2018; perhaps they could have done more by e-mailing owners of LR 6.14 and earlier.

Yes I know it.

I have bought LR 6 twenty month ago. Do you thing that to warn circa 1 year after buying is good business practice?

I think that such rich company as ADOBE should not have   absolute any problem to change the API for Google map in the LR 6 a release extraordinary LR6 update in spite of proclamation that the  update 6.14 is the last.

I am convinced that ADOBE does not consider individual small customers.

I think there would be a lot of interest, but you really would have to post this in a place that the proper Adobe people might see it. This is not the forum that Adobe reads. This is a user-to-user forum.

There is a Lr CC app for $4.99 for the phone and tablet available through the app store. It has basic functionality and you can add premium features at any time. This is about as Lite as you can get:

Hallo CMGAP.

Thank you for recommendation.

I explain in my reply to "Just Shot Me" which workflow I am using. It is impeccable for me to edit thousands of photos on my tablet instead desktop. I tried it - never more!
