Question

Wrong colors after DNG gets imported

Hi, I have not dealt with DNG files in the past but after purchasing Mavic 3 I ran into a following problem...

When I import DNG file into LR the colors look "unreal" they by default have stron contrast and saturation? BUT if I open the very same DNG file in Photoshop the colors are perfectly ok!?

Question: is this a know problem? Is there a solution?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

regards Marko

So it is important to realize that the initial rendering is an embedded JPEG from the camera, then as outlined, the default settings and profile selected for import are used to render a preview in LR itself. So you need to check all the import parameters including a camera profile. You can adjust all of this to produce a 'better' initial rendering upon import.

See https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/acr-raw-defaults.html

It covers ACR but the same process is used in Lightroom Classic for defaults.

First up, Profiles

In LrC, what profile is applied?

In PS, that is in ACR, what profile is applied?
