Question

Wrong colors in Lightroom Development / Graphic Card Intel UHD 630

Dear all,

last weekend I suddenly noticed that library and develop show colors differently.

Everything in develop is now more saturated and especially more red.

I am using a BenQ320 screen and monitor is calibrated with Spyder 4 using the Palette Master Elements Software which is distributed with the BenQ.

If I disable the graphic card in my Mac Mini 2018 everything is fine.

It worked for 1 year using the graphics card!

Many thanks for helping

Best regards

PG

The palette masetr software doesn't automatically load the porfile correcty in to the operating system I have noticed. To fix, go to the system preferences->displays settings and on the BENQ monitor go to the color tab. Click on the profile you generated using the palette master software. This should load it. Then also make sure to turn off night shift. Lastly, if you are using this monitor on a mac laptop and are still using the built-in display, go into the display preferences for the built-in display and turn off true tone and night shift. This messes with the color royally.

Dear all,

thank you very much for your feedback.

Root cause is found:

The new version of Palette Master obviously doesn`t work together with a BENQ320 and a Mac.

The profiles generated are obviously corrupt.

When I do the calibration with Spyder 4 and the Spyder Software it works fine as well as using the Mac Calibration Tool.

Hi there,

Would you mind confirming the version of Lightroom Classic you are currently using and the macOS version on the Mac Mini? You can try to change the color profile of the monitor to sRGB to check if that makes a difference.

Lightroom Classic only use the Graphics processor in the Develop module to generate/render the previews. If the images look fine with the Graphics processor OFF, it may be an issue due to the drivers of the Graphics card resulting in inaccurate color rendering.

Also, a minor difference in the color reproduction of the images between the Library and Develop module is expected. Please check the discussions in the links mentioned below.
