XMP Presets in Lightroom 10.14

Hello!

I currently have Lightroom CC 2015.9 [1106920]

I’m trying to import some XMP presets, but it just doesn’t work. I don’t know if I’m doing it correctly. Any suggestions?

Ok, you are going from pre v7.2 , so some things have changed.

1. Develop Presets not all showing up. Because Adobe added the ability to intentionally not load or show them. And by default, just a few standard ones appear, until you change that. Easily fixed.

see: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/missing-default-presets-75/

2. For JPEG, many third party presets are for RAW only. Adobe has added an option to show what they call partially compatible presets (that might work with JPEGs)

see: https://support.dvlop.com/article/44-presets-are-not-appearing-in-lightroom

3. P.S. see:

So select a raw file and see if that shows the presets. If not, contact the developer.

Depending on your preference settings, partly incompatible presets will either be in Italics, or won't show at all. Perhaps that is what happened. If a preset is for raw files only, and you have selected a jpeg right now, the preset is not shown. You can set this in Preferences - Presets.

I have the “show partially compatible develop presets” box checked. But yes! The image opened is a jpg...

Are you sure these are presets, not profiles? The new profiles are also XMP files (and must be stored in the same folder). They are accessed through the profile browser in the Basic panel, however.

Also make sure the presets are not hidden. Click on the plus icon at the top right of the presets panel and choose 'Manage Presets'.

I bought these presets from someone else. They told they were presets, not profiles... I tried to import them also directly. Clicked on the + > import presets > selected them > import. A message appears and says “unable to import presets, all items were already imported”.

XMP preset and profiles were introduced in Lightroom Classic 7.3. They d not work in older versions like CC2015.9. Why are you still using this older version anyway? If you use CC2015, not Lightroom 6, then that means you have a subscription. And that means the upgrade to Lightroom Classic is free (or to say it better: you already paid for that update).

Just did the update. So I went to Lightroom classic > preferences > show lightroom develop presets > camera raw > settings and paste the xmp files there. However, they still don’t appear in my presets column to use.
