Adding photos to the library does not update changed date and size of .lrlibrary file

Question

I use latest LR on an M1 Mac with latest macOS and noticed the following:

- I have LR set up to keep a copy of all smart previews an all originals

- if I edit photos or add new photos the date of last change and the size of the .lrlibrary-file stay the same

- looking inside the package shows the correct date and also the size of folder in which the originals are kept has changed

Is this by purpose or a bug?

The date is correct, because that is the date the package itself (which is a folder, disguised as a file) was created. It does not refer to the contents. The MacOS Finder often does not (immediately) show a difference in size if a third part app writes directly into a package. You could consider this a MacOS bug.
