Adjustment brushs changes now very faint

There is some setting that seems to be changing at random on lightroom: sometimes, the adjustment brush will work normally. If I increase the exposure by .38, it reacts as though I've increased the exposure on that area by .38.


Sometimes, though, it will change with no warning to be only a fraction of that change-- if I want to get the same effect as an increase of .38 in the exposure, I need to tell the brush to increase the exposure by 4-- and even then, it's still less of a change. This makes it largely useless.

 

I just installed the latest Lightroom update, and it did not fix the brush to how it was working an hour and a half ago. I have tried changing the density of the brush, which has not worked. Graduated filters do not have this problem.

 

Has anyone else run into this? is there a fix? it usually changes back after a few days or weeks, but I don't have the time for it right now.

Thanks for reaching out. If you can clarify a few things for me, we can get to the bottom of this.

Could you please confirm the version of Lightroom from Help > About Lightroom or Lightroom Classic and the version of the operating system you are working on? When working on any specific file type, JPEG or RAW images, does this happen?

Could you please share screenshots with high zoom levels to showcase the impact? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
