Question

Adobe, why do you move buttons around in the apps?

Look, we users build up muscle memory when using your apps, why can’t you just respect that and not move things around? Some of us have spent many many years with these apps.

If new features get introduced, put them somewhere else without moving what is already there?

In the iPad version of LR the delete button (for deleting selected photos) is now not he other side for some reason. This isn’t a huge problem, but I don’t get what the design philosophy you guys re operating by, is. Is the team just making changes for the hell of it? Like do they have a quota of code they need to hit and that results in stuff like this?

TLDR: recognize people have muscle memory built up with your apps and don’t move buttons around.

its getting to the point where I don’t wanna update anymore because there’s nonsense changes like this way too often. And features we actually want (calibration sliders, raw panoramas, aspect ratio input with numbers, color profile management) are nowhere to be seen.

It feels bad to be a paying customer. Feels like you don’t respect us users. Feels like being ignored. Features that LRC users takes for granted are nowhere on the iPad version, that feels bad. In the beginning it was possible to believe that with time these things would come. But it’s been years and years! I have no doubt you guys aren’t working on any of it. That feels bad.

Hi @just eirik, Thanks for the detailed feedback. A few things that may help:

    1. UI changes: You can submit feedback about specific UI regressions directly through Help > Provide Feedback in the app. The more users flag a specific change (like the move of the delete button), the more weight it carries in prioritization.

    2. Missing iPad features (calibration sliders, raw panoramas, numeric aspect ratios, color profile management): I'd recommend voting on or submitting these as individual requests. Each request gets tracked separately, and vote counts directly influence the roadmap.

    3. Update disruptions: If an update breaks your workflow, you can roll back to a previous version via Creative Cloud > Apps > Other versions. This gives you control while issues get addressed.

Please add your thoughts to our Feedback Requests at https://adobe.ly/3WdtkZD for features you would like our development teams to consider. Thanks again for your feedback! ^CH

So is what you’re saying that you guys develop your app based on upvotes here on this forum instead of what is best for the app itself? Instead of maybe having the goal of making every version of Lightroom as similar (in feature set) as possible so that users know they can get the work done no matter which version they use, you just implement features if they get enough upvotes here? That can’t be right. Right?

Don’t you want every version of Lightroom to be able to do all the same jobs?

How do I do that on iPad?
