AI updates seem to be slowing app down

Lightroom has really been a turd lately. It seems like it wants to update every time I start it up. All the updates to the AI (face, sky, recognition, etc.) seem to really be slowing it down. It takes so long for photos to render and for actions to to take effect. It just wanted to update AGAIN, and now it's giving me an error message about "Error Initializing Lightroom" "Invalid Offline Resource Path."

What's up?

Hey, @christopher27914291ewa2. Welcome to the Lightroom community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

What version of Lightroom & the operating system are you working on? Please share a screenshot of the Lightroom Preferences > Local Storage.

 

 

If you've changed the location to store the original on an external drive, it could be possible that Lightroom is having trouble accessing the originals & its database, causing repeated recomputation of AI masks.
