Album empty but I've edited 100+ photos

After editing about ~200 photos from one camera and saving those edited photos in a smart album, I wanted to start editing photos from my second cam. When I began to upload these images to my album, suddenly it reported that the album was empty. They are technically still syncing but I'm worried about all the images that I already spent hours editing.

If I cancel my upload will my original images return? Will they still be edited?
