Albums in Lightroom

I've been watching some excellent tutorials from Terry White on organising in Lightroom which are really helpful. I notice when watching him that he has thumbnails at the side of his albums in the Lightroom sidebar. I dont have these, all I have is a tick that shows it is synced with LR Classic? I do have them on my iPhone Lightroom but not on my Desktop version. Am I missing a simple setting perhaps? I have searched and googled and cant find a solution so you help would be appreciated.
