All Cloud Photos lost in Account Transfer
Dear Adobe Community,
Today has been an incredibly sad day for me—I can’t even put into words how powerless I feel.
I'm not sure where things went wrong, but I'll try to explain what happened in the hope that someone from Adobe might see this and be able to help.
My old company recently shut down. We had an Adobe Teams account that managed all employee accounts. I used my personal account within that system to store my Lightroom photos—both professional work and personal memories, including weddings, birthdays, and other significant events.
Because all my data was tied to that account, I decided to remove it from the company’s Teams account so I could continue using it independently.
I attempted to purchase a new personal subscription using my PayPal account, but it wasn’t possible. After several calls with Adobe support, I was informed that my account was locked to a U.S. region due to an Adobe Stock purchase. This complicated things significantly.
I then spent multiple hours with Roland from Adobe Support—a very helpful representative—who guided me through the process of converting my account. Throughout our conversation, I repeatedly emphasized how crucial it was to preserve all my cloud data. Roland assured me multiple times that all my data would remain intact. (I sincerely hope Adobe has a recording of that call.)
A few days later, I received an email confirming that my account had been successfully released from the U.S., allowing me to create a new subscription with my German PayPal account.
However, when I logged in, all my cloud data was gone—every single photo I had stored over the past 6–8 years. Weddings of friends, birthdays, holidays, and irreplaceable photos of my grandparents—all lost.
The question is; Was the data lost by disconnecting it from Teams to Independet or was it lost in the transfer from the US to Germany.
I've spent the last 24 hours chatting with Adobe support, desperately seeking help, but no solution has been provided. I’ve been told that none of my associated accounts contain any data, and I keep getting passed from one support agent to another.
The thought of losing all those memories is heartbreaking—I’ve been brought to tears over it.
I understand that trusting the cloud for storage was my fault, but I believed that by clearly communicating the importance of my data, I would be protected from such a loss.
I am devastated, angry, and filled with deep regret.
I'm posting this in the hope that someone from Adobe can assist me in recovering at least some of my photos from their servers.
Thank you for taking your time and reading my case.
