An Error Occurred When Attempting to change modules in Lightroom 4.3 on M1 Mac

I'm trying to open Lightroom ver 4.3 on an iMac with M1 chip and it's keep giving me the message "An Error Occurred When Attempting to change modules" and cannot open the program. I made sure to open it with Apple Silicon version not the Intel version and it's not working. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing it and still doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Lightroom due to the error you're getting. Would you mind telling us the exact macOS version you're working on? Sometime this error comes up due to a corrupt install. Please uninstall the latest version of Lightroom through Creative Cloud desktop app & then install the previous version of Lightroom using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Once you have established that you're able to launch the previous version, try updating to the latest version again to check if that helps.

Please check a similar conversation where this workaround helped, here: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Also, you can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/error-changing-modules-lightroom.html

Though the steps are for Lightroom Classic, but they might help with Lightroom as well.

Please let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj
