Blackout on Masks 2nd time to use nee MacBook Pro 14" Laptop - M3 Max chip - 36GB Memory - 30-core

Just bought this:  Apple - MacBook Pro 14" Laptop - M3 Max chip - 36GB Memory - 30-core

GPU - 1TB SSD

I've only used the program two times since the new computer and not only does it make my computer get excessively hot, but it is blacking out when using masking to where I can't even edit images.  This is for Light Room cloud based.  Would LrC be better?? I'm so bummed at the moment.
