Bluetooth remote shutter release not working

When using Lightroom Mobile on my Android phone, the bluetooth remote shutter release (which works fine with the Google camera) does not take a picture but instead increases the exposure compensation. The reason this matters is that the phone wiggles on the tripod in its phone holder if I touch the screen to take a picture.
