Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to Lightroom! You’re definitely not alone. Getting started can feel overwhelming, but you’re in the right place, and it’s totally okay to have questions early on.
Based on what you shared, it sounds like you’re using the Lightroom (cloud-based) version, not Lightroom Classic. That might be why you’re not seeing the Develop module, or some of the tutorials match differently.
Here’s what you can try:
• If you’re stuck at “2 activities in progress,” that usually means Lightroom is syncing something in the background. Try giving it a few minutes and ensure you’re connected to the internet.
• Presets in the cloud version can be installed by clicking the Edit (three slider icon) on the right, then going to Presets, and clicking the ••• menu to Import Presets. If you don’t see that, let us know what version of Lightroom you’re on (Mac/Windows/Web?).
• If you did mean Lightroom Classic, then you’ll find the Develop module on top next to Library. But it sounds like you’re in the cloud-based Lightroom, which is simpler and easier to start with.
