Go with whatever your local tech support is used to. (e.g. when you have a computer problem, who do you go to? Friend, kids, spouse... Use whatever they like and are willing to help you with)
These days, the difference between a Windows and Mac is more about what options you pick than about which is actually a better deal.
My suggestion would be you can purchase anything that fits the requirements, and if you buy 2-3 model higher than the minimum requirements, it can benefit you in the long run.
