Question

Camera to LR for Samsung

I am trying to import photos from my sd card into LR on my Samsung phone.

It picks up the sd card reader but only shows the nikon001.dsc folder.

I even tried using the back up sd card as the photos are on both so I don't think it is an sd card failure. Any advice welcome.

Try using a normal file manager first to verify that Android can see the images and folders. This will help determine where the potential issue is.e.g. is the issue internal to Lr? Or is there a system problem? or an issue with the cards or card reader? Where is the problem?

Hi Tim,

I take the sd card out of my camera and insert it into the card reader.

Then pop the reader into my phone and, after a while it detects the reader and that is when the nikon001.dsc folder pops up. Sometimes it doesn't pop up and I can just share the photos directly into LR for Samsung.

More often than not it says I don't have the app to open the nikon001.dsc folder and it gets me to go into the app store for android and throws a plethora of options up 🙂

That sounds more like a card reader or system problem than an issue with Lr. You need to use a simple file manager on the phone and make sure you can reliably open, view and copy files from the SD card. Lr is for the most part dependant core OS functionality.
