can't find the options library, develop, map, book, slideshow, print and web

Hi everyone!

I am new to lightroom and trying to add/download new presets. In the header of the program, it used to be options for library, develop, map, book, slideshow, print and web, but it´s all gone and I can't find a way to get it back. Anyone who knows how to get it back as I understand you need to press develop in order to add the new presets?

Thank you in advance,

Sincerely,

Ida

Hi Ida,

Sorry that the modules in the top panel in Lightroom are missing in your version.  Most probably you're using Lightroom CC which is a different application focused on cloud based storage and editing. Any of these panels are not a part of this app. If you'd like to work with modules like Library, Develop, Book, Print etc please install Lightroom Classic CC on your computer.

There are lot of other differences between the two apps explained here: Lightroom CC vs. Lightroom Classic CC | Adobe

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akash

Hi there!

It sounds like your Lightroom workspace might be in a different view or mode. Try going to **Window > Workspace** and selecting **Default Workspace** to restore the original layout. If you’re still having trouble, you can also reset the workspace by going to **Window > Workspace > Reset Current Workspace**.

@John38850882h4li  Lightroom does not have a function to 'reset workspace' or  alter "Window > Workspace"

Are you talking about other apps? Photoshop or Bridge?

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

"How do I print in Lighroom CC?"

[Export] the photo and use any other installed software to Open and Print the exported image.

Or- If you have Photoshop installed- [Edit in Photoshop] and print from Photoshop.

Adobe very unfortunately named a new totally different app that is basically a port of Lightroom for mobile platforms to desktop operation systems now Lightroom CC and renamed the real Lightroom that we all know from years of use to Lightroom Classic. (the new) Lightroom CC is an effort to have the catalog and images all reside in the cloud instead of on your hard disk. This is handy and useful to some but it comes at the prize of many features such as printing, slideshows, book creation, etc. missing. So if you need those features or prefer your images to be mostly locally stored, use Classic.

If you want to use your presets on Lightroom CC (yes the same presets that work in Classic work in CC), open an image so that you see the edit tools (double click an image, click on the small icon with three little sliders at the right top to show the edit tools), Click on the word presets in the bottom of the window, and click on the ellipsis (...) in the newly opened drawer and select Import Presets. Now select the zip file or the preset files you want to add.

I am new to Lightroom & I signed up for the cloudbased Lightroom.  I can not figure out how to bulk change the metadata.  When I look here for help, all the answers say to go to the Library module to make the changes but there is no Library that I can see on my home page when I open my Lightroom (version 8.1).  I would really appreciate anyone's advice on how to make bulk changes to the metadata, e.g., date, time, location data.  Thank you in advance!

Hi @Lisa35144312nkyy, welcome to the Community!

I'm here to help, but this thread is almost 6 years old. Next time you have an issue, I recommend creating a new thread, so your comment doesn't get lost.

The Library module is only available in Lightroom Classic (the icon says LrC). The app you're using is a different app called Lightroom (sometimes referred to as Lightroom CC or Lightroom Cloud, and the icon says Lr).

To bulk change metadata in Lightroom Cloud:

1. Go to Grid View.
2. Click on the Info icon at the bottom right, which will open a panel with your photo's metadata information.
3. While selecting multiple pictures, edit the fields on the right.

I hope this helps!

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but I'm struggling to understand how to import brushes into Lightroom CC (8.1). All the instructions I can find are for importing them into Lightroom Classic. Is it even possible to import brushes to CC version? Thank you so very much!

You’ve posted to an ancient thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same one you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better off posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information, including system information, a complete description of the problem, and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.

If the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

This thread will be locked.

Thank you!
