Question

Can't reinstall the presets after cache been cleared

Hello! I cleared my Lightroom cash and this has disabled all the presets I had. When I now try to re-instal them, the software says the type of file is not recognised even though they definitely worked before. I'm using free Lightroom version on my Android phone. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. That topic can be confusing. I’d love to help you figure it out.

Have you logged in with the same email account that was logged in before you cleared the caches? Do you see all the images that were present in Adobe Lightroom before? Do you have the presets in .dng file format & do you use Adobe Lightroom on the desktop?

You can log on to Lightroom web (https://lightroon.adobe.com) and sign in with your Adobe-associated account to check if the presets are synced and stored on the cloud. If you find any presets on the cloud, you do not need to import them again, just let Lightroom finish syncing, and the presets should be available.

If you have access to the Adobe Lightroom desktop, you can import presets on the Lightroom desktop, and it will sync over to your Phone shortly. If you are only using Lightroom mobile at the moment, you can check the response on this community thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-ecosystem-cloud-based-discussions/import-dng-presets-in-lightroom-mobile/td-p/10075090

Let us know if this helps,

Thanks!
