Can't see the bottom of the "Add new rule" select widget / Can't add stars-based rule

When adding a new rule for a smart album, the select is rendered too tall, such that it goes below the bottom of the app. There doesn't appear to be any scrolling enabled, so the options at the bottom of the list are completely inaccessible. I'm assuming "Stars" is down there, which means I can't add any kind of Stars-based rule / album. See attached screenshot.

Hi @kaiyoma,

Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for sharing the screenshot and the clear description. This looks like a UI rendering issue where the drop-down for Smart Album rules extends beyond the visible app window, making the bottom options inaccessible.

A couple of things you can try in the meantime:

  • Resize or maximize the Lightroom window to see if the drop-down fully expands.

  • Adjust your display scaling (Windows Settings > Display > Scale & Layout) and relaunch Lightroom to check if that allows the full menu to appear.

Also, I double-checked this on my end, and I don’t see a “Stars” rule in the Smart Album options either. What’s available is Rating, which covers star ratings (1–5).

Could it be that you were referring to that? If not, and you had something else in mind with “Stars,” please share more details. It doesn’t look like a built-in rule on Lightroom’s side.

Best,
