Question

Can the storage from the Lightroom bundle be used for generic files?

I'm planning on getting the 1TB Lightroom subscription. Is the storage also availble in the Creative Cloud app to upload generic files? I currently have the 40GB mobile only Lightroom package and CC shows 30/2GB used (30 being the storage used by Lightroom). I used to have the 1TB plan and think I was able to use the storage in CC as well, but I'm not sure

Hi @Christian24729118tvrf

Let me clarify this a bit more...

When Lightroom is subscribed via iOS or Android app, Creative Cloud may show the storage amount used, but only Lightroom Mobile can truly access the 40 GB or 100 GB that the mobile plans provide.  In this scenario, Creative Cloud can not use the storage amount provided by a LR mobile subscription, and instead is limited to the basic 2 GB cloud storage that is provided to all accounts.

It is possible for Creative Cloud to use storage from a Lightroom plan, but this requires a different kind of subscription, not your current 40 GB Lightroom Mobile-only subscription... You'd have to subscribe to a Lightroom desktop plan instead.  Only with a LR Desktop plan does LR cloud storage become available to the Creative Cloud app to store misc file types.

More info about Lightroom desktop plans (that do include mobile support too): https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/compare-plans.html

Thanks for this clarification, that's basically what I suspected. It's not super clearly communicated, but I guess it's not a common scenario! I'm about to upgrade my plan 🙂

Yes you can use the allocated cloud space for your images stored via Lightroom, and/or files stored by the Creative Cloud system.

Thanks for the reply! Then I'll invest the 12 Euro and try it out, hopefully it works as expected. Jsut weird that the 40GB do not count

You can cancel the mobile plan after you have taken the Lightroom subscription. Lightroom mobile is already included in that subscription.
