CC 2.1.1 Extremely slow.

Running this on a 4k iMac it's taking forever to load any images. From a cold start it takes 10-20 minutes before I can load my library and another 10mins if I switch albums. I've tried disabling the GPU and it had no change.

Library size is about 1.1 TB and it has 150gb for local previews. I'm not sure what to do at this point the software is unusable and I'm thinking of going back to classic.

Is this the size of the local library or the size of the Library in the cloud? Is Lightroom CC syncing in the background and fully finished syncing? My experience is that with really large libraries (I have a few TB of images myself in a Classic library) you are way better off just sticking with Classic and to use CC only with a subset of images synced from Classic. CC seems to be targeted towards the iPhone shooter or the person who has only a limited number of images. People like me that can shoot 1000's of images a day will not be happy with CC.
