I need to remove over 900 photos that are now in Lightroom on my iPad without also loosing them from other folders on my iPad such as Recents.  How???

Or Rosemary, do you mean does it get deleted from Recents in the native iOS Photos app?

If that's the case then photos in the iOS app and photos in Lightroom are not linked. Deleting from Lightroom Mobile will not delete any files from the iOS Photos app.

Or as Johan is saying, do you mean Recent Edits and RecentlyAdded in the Lightroom Mobile app?

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you remove an image from Lightroom, then obviously it's going to be removed from Recents as well. Do you mean you want to remove photos from a specific album? Folders in Lightroom for iPad are not like folders on a computer drive. They are basically 'album sets', so your images do not reside in folders.
