Cloud Albums empty after reinstalling Windows 11

I just did a fresh install of Windows 11, and after I reinstalled Lightroom, all of my cloud albums are listed, but there are no photos in them. My cloud storage s full ((indicating the photos must still be there...somewhere) so I wanted to start off loading a bunch of older stuff. But it looks like it did something with all of them and I can't figure out how to get them back. I imagine they must be out there somewhere. Anyone encounter this of have a suggestion?

Hey, @rogerf69690878. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I've checked the account you're signed in with. You don't have an active subscription, and the storage quota is exhausted.

If you were logged in to Lightroom with the same account, the images, edits, and the rest of the data would've synced to the cloud. Head to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/4hheLtJ) and check what has synced.

Do you see an empty black screen in the Grid View, if yes, it might be GPU issue being discussed here: https://adobe.ly/4ha8G27

Hi Sameer, thanks for the response! I do have an active subscription, as it auto renews through Amazon and I see I was charged. If I'm showing in active then there's something else wrong. Since posting this I have discovered that once you hit cloud storage quota, all files are stored locally. In my case, the NEF files were on my hard drive, inspite of being in the Cloud tab on LR. However, while I can find the NEF files for those photos, I am unable to locate the XMP files that contain all my custom settings. Any idea how to map those back to the NEF files in LR? The good news is I've got the photos now. The bad news is I seem to have misplaced my customizations.

Lightroom Desktop does not work by associating XMP files with RAW files like that. It has a different structure.

Images that didn't sync to the cloud are indeed stored locally & are at risk of deletion if Lightroom's caches are disturbed.

It'll be difficult to reinstate the edits with Lightroom. You can try using Lightroom Classic to read & write to the XMP metadata files.
