Question

Color on mobile is off after exporting from LR classic

Hello, I am hoping and praying someone can help as I am exasperated.  When I export photos from LR classic on my computer and then open them, they look great.  However when I try to open them on my mobile, (I am emailing the files to myself from my computer} they look very yellow and much warmer than I see on my desktop.  I am so frustrated and have tried what I've seen online. I am exporting using the SRGB color profile, my settings on my phone are correct, I cannot figure it out.  I am frustrated because most people open and view on their phones now and this isn't an accurate representation of my work.  Can ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE???????  I am at my wits end.  I have updated, restarted, checked settings, etc.  Nothing has worked.  Thank you in advance.

Hi @sarahemily,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm just following up on this thread. Please share more information about your setup:

• Does the color shift happen only on your device or on other mobile devices as well?
• Are the exported files JPEGs in sRGB?
• Which app are you using to view them on the phone? Apple Photos/ Gallery/ Google Photos, Gmail preview, Lightroom Mobile, or any other app?

Also, could you please share:

• A screenshot of the image on your computer
• A screenshot of the same image on your phone

One thing I’ve seen cause similar behavior is HDR display rendering on newer phones. Depending on the export settings and the viewing app, the same image can appear noticeably warmer, brighter, or with different contrast on the phone compared to a calibrated desktop display.

Before we assume it’s the same issue, it’d be helpful to confirm:

• Is the entire image warmer/yellower?
• Or are only highlights/skin tones shifting?

The more examples we have, the easier it will be to determine whether this is:
• A phone display/rendering issue
• A color profile issue
• A viewing-app issue
• Or something related to Lightroom export behavior.

Hi @janas323, welcome to the community!
Photos can look different on a mobile device compared to what you edited in Lightroom Classic because each device handles color and display in its own way. Lightroom uses a color-managed workflow with wide color spaces, while most phones show images in sRGB and sometimes ignore color profiles. Mobile screens also aren’t calibrated like monitors and often boost brightness or saturation to make things look more vivid. Export settings and display modes on the phone can add to these differences.
Let us know if you have any questions!

Hi @Aleke thank you for the reply.  I understand that photos can look different on a mobile device, however, this type of yellow warm discoloration has never happened before , I literally just uploaded and exported a gallery last week without issue.   Same camera, same computer, same export settings, same mobile.   It's not subtle either, it's like a yellow/warm cast over the photos.  I cannot figure it out and since everyone pretty much views their photos on mobile devices anymore I don't want to give them poor quality yellow pictures.  I do not know what to do to solve this problem.  Had this been a regular occurrence I would understand but this just started happening like I said.  No issue last week and no changes to anything, I don't get it.
